Scott Kirkpatrick is a partner with the Louisiana lobbying and consulting firm Pelican State Partners where he enjoys living out his passions for politics, law and policy.  Scott received his undergraduate education at the University of Virginia where he received a BA in Government and Religious Studies.  He then earned a JD from Louisiana State University and headed to Washington, DC where he served on the staff of U.S. Senator John Breaux and then U.S. Congressman Richard Baker.

Returning home to Louisiana, he served in the policy office of Governor Kathleen Blanco and after hurricanes Katrina and Rita he transitioned to work with the Cypress Group on a FEMA program to rebuild homes in areas devasted by the hurricanes.

Over the past decade, Scott’s passion for advocacy has led him to start up and manage several associations addressing topics including coastal restoration and protection, transportation investments and support for military veterans.  His state and local lobbying and procurement support covers a range of issues including healthcare, retail, natural resources and technology.  Scott’s broad understanding of Louisiana allows him to help clients navigate the wonderful and peculiar ways of the pelican state.
